5 Romantic Christmas Movies in 2020 (and One to Avoid)

I’m a sucker for Christmas-themed books and movies, as long as there’s a bit of romance involved. So of course I’ve been binging them since mid-Novemeber, and I wanted to share my favorites so far, and one I wouldn’t bother with at all.

Let’s get to it!

Operation Christmas Drop

Netflix Stream Here

Congressional aide Erica (Graham) forgoes family Christmas to travel at her boss’s behest. At a beachside Air Force base, she clashes with Capt. Andrew Jantz (Ludwig), who knows her assignment is finding reasons to defund the facility.”

This is the exact kind of cute holiday romance than makes me steer clear of professional reviews. It was cute, and Bonnie from Vampire Diaries is the star, so that’s enough for me.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again

Netflix Stream Here

When Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne to Montenaro and hits a rough patch with Kevin, it’s up to her double Stacy to save the day before a new lookalike, party girl Fiona foils their plans.”

As fun as the first, but speaking of The Princess Switch, be sure to watch that one before diving into this second installment.

Holiday in the Wild

Netflix Stream Here

“After getting dumped by her husband, Kate takes their planned second honeymoon by herself — finding a newfound love for life (and a handsome pilot) on her way.”

Although it’s from 2019, this is a super fun holiday romance which stars, as you can see, Rob Lowe. Enough said.

Knight Before Christmas

Netflix Stream Here

“A medieval English knight is magically transported to present-day America where he falls for a high school science teacher who is disillusioned by love.”

The reviews aren’t great. Ignore them. If you love all things medieval, like me, and/or time travel with a splash of romance, try this one from 2019. I found it thoroughly enjoyable.

Holidate

Netflix Stream Here

Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way.”

Not my cup of tea. I’m all for sexying up our romantic Christmas movies, but this one felt flat to me.
